Recently refurbished, without losing its essential character, Dorset House is a 35-bed boutique hostel - and a charming environment from which to enjoy the Garden City. Set among beautiful gardens and right next to Hagley Park, Dorset House is still steeped in the character of the early Christchurch pioneers. Built in 1871 as the home for the wealthy timber merchant, J B Way, it once featured 27 rooms and three Italian marble fireplaces. It has been lovingly maintained, and is a slice of Christchurch’s past that we are proud to share. There are no bunk beds here – all beds are fully made with fresh linen.
Facilities include a free pool table, TV, DVD player, SKY TV, computers and WiFi access.
24-hour check-ins are available on request, and free luggage storage is available. We have a lock-up to keep your bike or skis safe, and free off-street car-parking is available. We hope to see you here soon!
